Vaping Law Changes: Medical and Nurse Practitioners Remain Essential
Following the 1 October commencement of laws allowing S3 supply of therapeutic vapes, many are asking: what does this mean for prescribers?
Prescribers remain vital for ongoing access to therapeutic vapes. In particular, the PSA’s new guidelines for pharmacists:
- Emphasise a patient-centred approach and collaboration between pharmacists and prescribers; and
- Limit supply of S3 vaping products to 12 weeks, beyond which, patients must be referred to clinicians for assessment.

S3 vapes: Why GP visits are likely to increase from 1 October
With the RACGP having now released its updated Smoking Cessation Guidelines to include guidance for vaping cessation, Liber will host two webinars on 16 October to provide an update on the new regulations and the RACGP and PSA guidance.
Each session will have at least 30 minutes for open Q&A.
